My piece Maternal Instinct was included in a group show for MICA (M/others in Contemporary Art) a group with a mission to bring up artists in the throes of motherhood (including non-binary experiences and women who have suffered miscarriage etc).
You can see my featured artist post from the group here!
Information about the reception can be found here.
Did you know that men who become fathers typically make MORE money as artists but that women and non-binary artists often see the end of their careers or make a lot less than they did before children? A lot has been written on the subject but this article from Lithub sums up a lot of the information well. Talking openly about struggles as a mother-artist is a political act and I’m glad to be included.
